5th Corner Graphic Design has a very personal reason behind the name that requires some backstory. In May of 2018, my grandfather passed away. He lived in the same house for around 60 years. The same house we would visit him in, play wiffleball in the backyard and basketball on the driveway. The house where we would often hang out in the basement and watch golf or play darts. Where we would enjoy supper from The Hut while looking at the many plates he and my grandma had collected from their trips. The house where my father and his siblings grew up. This house sits on the corner of 5th Street and 5th Avenue. Ever since he passed, I've wanted to include a memory of him in something I've made. Now the memory of him and the house he spent over half his life in will forever be apart of everything I design. Even the colours in the logo have meaning. Maroon represents the hockey team my grandpa played many, many years for, the Altona Maroons. Gold represents sunflowers which is a huge part of the town he lived in and sunflowers are just apart of the story of my grandpa. The name and colours will forever remind me of just a couple parts of who my grandpa was.
